Our fifth grade InTECC students shared their Earth Science projects with sixty five sixth grade Lanier Middle TWIST students!  They were excellent presenters and were nervous at first, but were professionals by the second and third group to which they were presenting.  I am so proud of every student for being willing to step out of their comfort zone and widen their audience!

Changes in Earth's Surface InTECC: Work in Progress!

Our InTECC project on changes in Earth's surface is coming together!  Only one week until presentations!  We are looking forward to sharing our projects next week with the sixth grade TWIST class!

Our Collaborative Project with Mrs. Rainwater's Third Grade Students

Our students partnered with Mrs. Rainwater's students to create a one week mini InTECC project.  Many third grade students wanted to learn how to use Prezi and incorporated it into their group project.
All students learned from one another and worked well together in order to create a final product covering Earth Science!  The following pictures are during presentation day...everyone was nervous but they all did great!

Our Turn of the Century projects were a success!  Students learned how to improvise when the original plan didn't work and we were willing to make necessary changes at the last minute!
Our next InTECC project will cover Earth and its changes and we will be working with Ms. Rainwater's class and the sixth grade TWIST class!

Turn of the Century

We are working diligently on our Turn of the Century InTECC projects!
Our first group is working with the iMac composing and recording a song!

I love the mess of papers, books, notes and laptops!  They are so focused!

Our students are getting used to sharing their work with other students and principals.  This past week we have had several visitors come see the work our students are doing in InTECC.  Will and Shawn shared their 3D Minecraft cell creations from our last project and everyone was impressed!  I am so proud of our students and how hard they are working to further their learning!

We received our letters from our pen pals in Rwanda.  Students loved reading and sharing their pen pal letters!  We have big ideas for fundraising for school supplies for our pen pals!

We were so lucky to have published author Janice Hardy come visit our class and talk about the writing process and how she gets her ideas.  The students enjoyed asking her questions about getting stumped, stuck, and how to get a book published.  Our students had so many great starter ideas for possible books they would like to write!

Cells and Genetics iMovie

Students did an excellent job presenting their research and new learning for cells and genetics.  This was their second project this year and I have seen extreme growth in their skills working together as well as using new technology to create their final products!  The iMovie below is a short clip of everyone's presentations.
Enjoy!

We had a great time today on our field trip to the Cyclorama!
