Dropping Off Donations to Atlanta Mission

This afternoon we loaded up three cars and headed to Atlanta after school to give all the donations from Silver City to My Sister's House (a division of Atlanta Mission).  The students were so excited to deliver these items and see who would benefit from the donations.  As we walked through the children's playground to access the main entrance, we were able to interact with a few young children.  They were excited to see all the supplies (mostly markers) coming in and one little boy was excited to see all the shaving cream! It was a great afternoon and so rewarding to see the students follow through with their project and finalize months of hard work!  So proud of these kids, their hearts for giving, and thankful for their supportive families who supported their project as well!

Donation Drive for Atlanta Mission!

London, Drew, Ashlyn, and Will S. have been working on their Great Depression project for months and the week before spring break was their chance to implement their plan!  Every shuttle in the school brought in an item for Atlanta Mission, which is a homeless shelter.  Each day the group counted items and tallied up points based on the math that each dollar spent equaled half a point.  We even had a mom pull up in her car Friday during lunch to drop off many cases of water at the very last minute!  The next step is for the group to take all of Silver City's donations to the shelter and they are all excited!  It's great to see how a small group of students' ideas came to fruition and will help people in our area!
