Reflecting on a new school year

These are the books I have on my nightstand staring back at me begging to be read.  I started two, have one chapter left in one, and haven't cracked open the last one.   This is usually what happens!  The stack grows and never seems to be complete, which is part of being a reader.  These past few weeks have been spent reflecting on last year and planning for the upcoming year.  I am reading the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio (see the stack above) and have decided it is worthy of our first read aloud book this school year.  It is my hope our class takes away as much from it as I already have in just reading part one.
It's always energizing to start a new school year.  Everything is fresh and I'm always looking for ways to add to or ramp up what has previously been done the year before with my students.  I am really looking forward to seeing all my new students and parents Monday the 5th for student orientation.  Our 5th grade InTECC lab is coming together...only a few more pieces are needed to complete the puzzle.  This is going to be an exciting adventure this year!
This is the first year for 5th grade InTECC in full force, the website is new, and I'm trying out blogging.  It's my plan to update this blog with new pictures, quotes, and class events throughout the year.  I hope all of this blog's readers enjoy this new form of communication.  Thanks for reading!
