World War II: InTECC

Our project focus for WWII is digging deeper into the content, researching our personal lingering questions, and reaching out to connect with the community and world.  We are wrapping up our first week of research and I am already thrilled with students' thoughts, ideas and progress!

Group #4 brought in a WWII veteran (Ashlyn's Great Grandfather) in order to interview him about life during the war and his role in Iwo Jima.

Mr. Paul Minehan sharing pictures and stories about the war.

Mr. Mike Reilly came in for our computer programming session to speak with students (4th and 5th graders) about coming up with a plan and storyboard before attacking code.  He is a teacher at Lanier High School in the CDAT program.  We learned so much from his expertise!

We have found as we are digging deeper with our research that our hands and heads are becoming full!
So many great books and articles to read and find just what we need!

Students are creating mind maps to track their lingering questions throughout the research phase and are typing answers as they find them!  Such a cool new tool to use to collaborate with our groups!

We are making great progress and we continue to learn and push ourselves to do even better than before!
