Friday Fun: Book Buddies in the Garden and Coding with Google CS First

This morning we met with our book buddies for the first time in the galactic garden and many students formed new friendships!  

We also were able to test out our coding abilities using Google CS First Music and Sound.  Students were able to help one another out and write their peers shout outs that were read to the whole class at the end of our first lesson.  It was loud and fun!

Solar Eclipse Day: August 21st 2017

We had such a fun afternoon experiencing the solar eclipse together as a class!  We tracked our observations and noticed the change in temperature, the sounds of the crickets, and the change of light and shadows.  It was a memorable day!

Week One of Fifth Grade!

Our first full week in fifth grade has been busy!  We learned how to have an effective meeting and how to communicate effectively in a group setting as well as how to disagree agreeably.  We were able to meet with our Kindergarten writing buddies Thursday and began with a reading activity to become familiar with one another.  We also worked in large groups in a community circle discussing an article and took turns using our talking pieces.
