Hydrogen Generator: Trials Two and Three!

Group 19 met in the science lab today with Mr. Robert to make a second attempt to successfully create hydrogen with their generator.  They used wires to connect to the battery, and quite an event took place...wires were accidentally crossed and smoke was created!  After a quick evacuation and some fan action, the group was ready for a third trial!  They learned a lasting lesson about positive and negative connections and the reasons why wires cannot cross!

Trial Three:
They decided to relocate outside and use a jumper cable (as they originally thought would be more safe) to connect and it was a success!  Bubbles were created and hydrogen was flowing through the tube!  A leak was discovered, so before their next trial. they will need to seal the top with silicone.  What an exciting experiment day!
