Today was an amazing day spent in downtown Atlanta with Fill the Bowls group. Even though it is summer, ALL five girls were able to take part in this opportunity to tour the facility and see where their donation of $877 had gone. They were able to meet women and children and see what is still needed to help support them. A special thank you for the continued support of their parents to willingly take time as well as transport the girls there!
I am completely in awe of these girls and all their hard work this last school year and the continuous passion and drive. They left brainstorming ideas for how to get the cluster schools involved and how to continue and grow this partnership with Atlanta Mission beginning day one of middle school. This is the first project reaching this level of community impact and these girls have made a forever imprint on so many people. I am filled with pride and know Fill the Bowls will continue to grow their vision for helping others. Absolutely amazing!
Meeting with their contact, Katie Patel (who is awesome and has taken so much time to work with them), and listening to two women share their personal journey and how Atlanta Mission has helped them start over.
Asking questions about how they can continue to help through fundraising and donations. They have great ideas about a Christmas Drive for toys as well as possibly a library for the kids!
Beautiful murals painted by local artists in the teen study room down the kids' hall.
At the entrance by the newly finished playground.
Such a great group of girls! Thank you Katie for our tour!
