Welcome to Poole's Mill!

If you've landed here at Ms. Smith's blog, you may be curious about her.  Well, if you have A LOT of time, you can dig through the archives of this blog to see what she's been up to in her classroom the past few years or you can read the condensed version below! 😃

I spent my first ten years teaching 3rd, seven years of 5th, and one year teaching 7th grade social studies in Gwinnett County.  I spent the last three years teaching 5th grade in Forsyth County at Silver City Elementary.  My son, Lincoln, will be in third grade this year at Poole's Mill.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Pre-K through 8th grade and a Master's Degree in Post-Secondary Education as well as the Gifted Endorsement.  A few words to describe me as a teacher: flexible, choice, integration, technology, project based learning, real world application, using experts in the field, coding, life long learner, research, passionate, celebrates failures and a few others!

Actions speak louder than words, so if you REALLY want to know what I've been up to with my students the past few years, check out the posts from previous years on this blog.  It's fun to go back and see the journey I've been on with students and it reminds me how AMAZING kids are and how we all think differently and can create great things together!

It's going to be a great first year at Poole's Mill!  If you need to contact me, please email me at JSSmith@forsyth.k12.ga.us

I am looking forward to meeting you all!
